SURROUNDINGS
The apartments “Leyendas de Montfragüe” are located in Torrejón el Rubio (Cáceres), which is one of the villages inside Monfragüe National Park.
Monfragüe National Park was designated a Biosphere Reserve in 2003 by UNESCO, and it is also a ZEPA (Area of Special Protection for Birds).
In 2007 it was declared National Park.
Monfragüe National Park is an outstanding example of the Mediterranean forest, as well as the bird watchers`paradise: since it has the biggest colony of cinereous vultures in the world, (more than 200 couples) and the highest concentration of imperial eagles.

Monfragüe is also home to the Iberian lynx, the red deer, the wild boar, the wild cats and a large number of different species of waterfowl.
